One Week Down

After one week on my Arbonne-based nutrition plan, I am ready to report seven days worth of results. I was going to post something midweek, but I was a bit too busy and just never got around to it. Nevertheless, judging from what the scale reports this morning, what I am doing is working thus far, and I am very pleased with the results. Though scale visits earlier this week showed a larger loss, I am still satisfied with the number, and should this trend continue, I might well be under 300 pounds by the end of the month.

Last Friday, I weighed in at 327 pounds. I took some measurements as well, but I won’t be updating those until the end of next week. When I woke up this morning, the scale was being a bit schizophrenic but ended at or around 321 pounds a few times, so that’s what we’ll say my weight is today. I am glad that I have shown this much progress so quickly, as any weight loss is only more encouragement to keep going. I’ll check in again next Friday at the 14 day mark.

Beginning weight:      327 pounds (6’2″)
Current weight:           321 pounds
Total weight lost:            6 pounds (1.83% of beginning weight)

Until next time…

Weight-Loss Journey Begins…Again

There are many examples on this here blog exploring my attempts to lose weight over the years. As I am at my highest weight ever, I have obviously failed in my previous efforts to get to where I want to be.

That being said, I have decided to embark on yet another attempt to get to a more healthy weight. My sisters Kathy and Stef have had some success using Arbonne products to get healthy, and I have decided to get on board. I will try to post at least weekly updating my weight-loss, and as my schedule allows, I might post more updates about how I feel during the week. I’ll be doing the “28 Days to Health” as a minimum, and potentially longer depending on my success in the program.*

*Though even if my results are pretty modest, I might incorporate the shakes into my daily routine, if only because they are pretty tasty and portable. Continue reading “Weight-Loss Journey Begins…Again”

Weight-Loss Update – Month Five

I’m kind of sucking at regularly updating my progress in this goal from the first of the year. Part of it is that I am unsatisfied with my progress and feel weird report losing half a pound over the span of a month. But no longer. I need to do this more, and report every loss (or gain) regardless of the size. It’s about accountability, and if I don’t do this, it just gives me an excuse to resign myself to my previous lifestyle. No thanks.

I’ve been in Illinois for almost a week. In order to meet this quarter’s weight-loss goal, I still need to lose around 20 pounds this month. I’m not going to worry about that right now. I had some grand intentions of donating money based on meeting quarterly goals, trying to make me feel the pain monetarily. Instead, I am going to focus on just trying to be healthier. By doing so, the weight will definitely come off, but I won’t focus on hitting a number every week/month. But we’ll see how well that works out. Continue reading “Weight-Loss Update – Month Five”

Weight-Loss Update – Month Three

It’s been a couple of months since I last posted my weight-loss progress. Not going to make excuses why I haven’t updated, and for those that may be new to the blog, my goal is to lose 1.5 pounds a week this year, targeting 20 pounds per quarter. Unfortunately, I fell a bit short this quarter, so the folks at the American Heart Association will be getting a donation from me fairly soon.

Hopefully, I can get back on track with this goal in particular, but the plan is to lose another 20 pounds by June 30, if not tack on the bit that I missed by this time around. I haven’t decided on a health-related charity yet, but I will keep y’all posted once I figure it out by the end of the month. Without further ado, here are my up to date results:

Starting Weight (January 6) – 320.2 pounds
Current Weight (March 31)  – 313.2 pounds
Total weight loss (percentage) – 7 pounds (-2.2%)
Missed goal by 13 pounds
Looming donation to American Heart Association – $325
($25/pound)
Target weight by June 30 – 293.2 (280.2 if missed weight included)
Recipient charity – TBD
