Brothers Across America – Day 8

After spending an extra day in Orlando at my friend’s house, we got back on the road and began our trek north. The rest of Florida was fairly uneventful, and we weren’t really in Georgia all that long either. Amazingly, we didn’t see the Atlantic Ocean while in Florida, but there will be plenty of time to see it as we head further up the coast. It was nice to see some temperatures above 75, though it was kind of humid.

As we drove through South Carolina — most of it at night — I began to think about the last time I spent a lot of time in South Carolina. It was about 12 1/2 years ago when I was at Fort Jackson for AIT. Might swing by the post since we are close enough, but I’ll make that decision in the morning. Since the internet in the hotel is not working all that great, I might be spending the morning seeking out some internet though. Hopefully, we’ll get heading north before the storm gets to bad in Virginia.

Until next time…
