Brothers Across America – Day 1

The spring road trip is underway. Though the route has changed when I planned it in November, it will still be nearly four weeks on the road. As you can see from the picture above, my brother Billy is accompanying me on this trip. I was going to make the trip alone, but Billy convinced me to bring him along. So far, so good.

The plan during the day is for me to do my writing while he studies for his aircraft mechanic certifications. One of the conditions for him to accompany me was that he needs to take his certification exams once we get back. Then he can get a job doing what he wants to do while giving me a companion for my little trip.

Day one was pretty uneventful. I saw some parts of Utah that I hadn’t seen before, and set foot in Colorado outside of the Denver airport. The drive itself wasn’t terrible; there was some snow as we came over the mountain through Vail, and my windshield wipers kind of made things difficult at times, but we will rectify that tomorrow before we head on to Albuquerque. As we head further south, I think we are done with the snow, and by the time we get East, hopefully there won’t be any up in New England.

If you want to see some pictures from out little journey, feel free to follow me on Instagram, where I go by the name guruebby. The plan is to try and take pictures of all the state signs as we are going, but we’ll so how well that works out once they start getting a little closer together. I’ll also be writing a quick 300 words or so each night as to what happened on our travels for the day, so be sure to check back here over he next few weeks.

Until tomorrow…
