Leave Chronology – Day Eight

First thing in the morning, we went to the train station and purchased our rail pass so we could see the sights of Germany outside of Frankfurt. The first place we went was Heidelberg to see some old school castle that has obviously had better days.

However, one of the things that Heidelberg had going for it was it actually looked a German town that I has seen in all the pictures growing up. It was nice to get out of Frankfurt, which looked like a “western” economic center and get to a city that looked more “European.”

After walking around the castle and the town for a bit, prior to boarding the train back to Frankfurt, we stopped at a quaint little diner called the Hard Rock Cafe. I think I am going to try and import the themed restaurant concept to the United States. It would probably be pretty successful. After getting back to Frankfurt, we again stopped by the Irish pub to close out the night.
