Thanks to one of my favorite bloggers, Joe Posnanski, I have been introduced to the wonderfully entertaining site I Write Like, which analyzes some text and gives you an indication of whom your writing style most closely resembles. I "analyzed" my previous blog post and it said that I write like Cory Doctorow. All I can say is: who? I'll have to poke around a bit to find out who this person is. I was really hoping that I would get someone famous so I could be like: "Guess what? My writing tends to follow the basic constructions and themes of the esteemed Dave Eggers/Michael Crichton/Henry David Thoreau/Stephen King/Stephen Colbert." But no. I get some random dude I have never heard of. Maybe I should find something that he has written and read it to see how awesome he is before I denigrate him further.
