Got the below as an e-mail today. Take it for what it’s worth…
The Wall Street Journal reports this morning that Wal-Mart is telling its managers to tell employees not to vote for Democrats. Here’s the story:
This is cruel harassment, Wal-Mart have been calling their employees in and demanding them to not vote Democratic….. that a vote for Barack Obama would cause them to lose their jobs…..see link below…. this is scare tactics at best, mind games…….

While I’d love to see pickets, it’s awfully hot for that and I think that email can do just as well. So, please forward this email (after reading the news article so you can check my facts) to everyone you know. Union members, be sure to get the word out. Let’s hit them in their pocket book. I’m tired of giving money to republicans and corporate neo-nazis. We need to let our money do our talking.. I am asking you not to buy your back-to-school items at Wal-Mart.
But we need to do more. Send a letter to the editor of your local newspaper telling others.
But we need to let Wal-Mart know what’s happening. Go to the post office and buy 2 re-stamped postcards. Send one to:
Wal-Mart, Inc.,
702 SW 8th Street
Bentonville, Arkansas 72716 -8611
Send the other postcard to the closest Wal-Mart to your house. Tell them ‘We’re incensed by your telling your employees not to vote for Democrats we will not be shopping in your store for back to school items this year or any other items.’
Then, DON’T SHOP AT WAL-MART. Let’s take them to school and hit them where it hurts – in their greedy little pocket books!
Robert, this is pretty shameful, huh? And the sad part is that they’re allowed to get away with this stuff. Imagine it — the world’s largest retailer and the nation’s larges employer activity encouraging employees to vote one way. It’s disgusting. It reminds me of Buy N Large in the movie Wall-E. Anyway, I actually work with WakeUpWalmart.com, and I’d encourage you to sign up today! Keep up the good fight!
Hum…As a former employee of Wal-Mart, I can say I am not surprised…the company does a lot to make sure it’s workers don’t join unions. But I think Wal-Mart isn’t all bad. It is a place where people who aren’t very skilled can get a decent paying job. It’s not a lot, but I made $8.50/hour there…which is way more then I made at JC Penney’s or the like. They also aren’t as bad as everyone says regarding Health Care and working the correct hours…Maybe certain stores have issues, but it’s not corporate. Is it worng for a company to asks it’s employees to do anything they don’t want to…yeah, but if the employee is stupid enough to think they will get fired for voting one way or the other…then well, I have got a great investment oppurtunity they sould hear about. My 2 Cents
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, and again, and again… DOWN WITH WAl-MART! I won’t shop there, and I’m always telling others to do the same. Spend an extra four cents or support a corrupt corporation? Ummm…I’ll spend the extra coin. Grrr!
