Our last day in Hawaii

We had some time to kill before leaving Kauai, so we went to see a lighthouse. It was pretty fancy, as far as lighthouses go. See picture below. I believe it was called the Kilauea Lighthouse, but don’t quote me on that. It is the northern most point in Hawaii, and during the winter months (boo!), a humpback whale breeding ground. Needless to say we did not see any whales, though I saw some dolphins (not pictured).

Lighthouses – saving seamen for thousands of years!

Famous Lighthouses include:

Pharos: Lighthouse of Alexandria

Eddystone Lighthouse

Kopu lighthouse, the third oldest operating lighthouse in the world

Tower of Hercules

Barnegat Lighthouse
